About Us

Broadcasting on 95.3 FM out of Mt. Washington, KY and streaming via the TuneIn.com Radio app on your smart phone or other mobile device (just search for Reach 95 WFBR) and on the web at www.reach95.org

WFBR began broadcasting November 29, 2003 as a non-profit low-power FM radio station. Our studios are located in Coakley Chapel at First Baptist Church in Mt. Washington. Our low-power FM license grants us the ability to broadcast at 100 watts of power 24 hours a day/ 7days a week. Originally, our license granted us operating authority at 93.9 FM; however, due to developments in 2007, we were forced to seek a new channel on the FM band. October 6, 2008 we began broadcasting for the first time at 95.3 FM with a primary broadcasting radius of 7 miles from our studios on Bardstown Road and secondary coverage that extends another 8 to 15 miles.

Fill-in

Our mission is to serve Bullitt County through our programming.  We are founded in the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and structured to outreach to the community through local and family friendly programming; hence the slogan “Reach 95 FM”. We also broadcast educational and informative specials such as: Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Life”, and Tony Dungy's "Quiet Strength".Each Sunday WFBR broadcasts the 11:00am Worship Service from the First Baptist Church Mt. Washington, sanctuary. During the school year Reach 95 FM also delivers "Worship on Wednesdays" with live music and a message for today’s youth. Since our mission statement is focused on building community outreach, we cover local events by remote broadcasts and through community announcements, as well as make an effort to cover as many Bullitt East Football and Basketball games as possible - even those on the road - our crew in the past has even travelled as far as Texas to cover Bullitt East!  WFBR has been the source for broadcast coverage of regular and post-season play since December 2003.We encourage public service announcements from non-profit school, church, and community organizations. You will hear these local announcements ("reminders from Reach 95 FM") twice each hour.  We also have a local talkshow - Hometown Talk - featuring local guests from Bullitt County to discuss local events and issues important to our citizens.  We are nonprofit and staffed almost entirely by volunteers and supported by donations from local businesses and individuals.  All donations can be sent WFBR, P.O. Box 315, Mt. Washington, KY  40047.  All donations are tax deductible.  If you are a business who would like to be an underwriting partner, please contact us at 538-8880 for sponsorship packages.
